Boston Day
I have lived in New England all of my life, one of my favorite childhood memories was a trip to Boston with my dad. I was thrilled when I found out that the incoming freshmen at Gordon would be going to Boston for a day during Orientation.

Boston Day started early in the day with everyone loading themselves into a line of yellow buses. Rain was slowly falling from the sky as the buses pulled away from Gordon full of chatting new students.
My crew and sister crew spent the entire day together exploring the city and having a fabulous time. Boston day was a wonderful introduction to the T transportation system and the freedom having a nearby city.

Upon arriving, our Ocrew leaders explained that we'd be doing a scavenger hunt in the city. This activity allowed us to explore a large section of the city and ended at the cheesecake factory where we had a delicious snack!!

I enjoyed traveling around the city with my peers and future classmates. We talked about all the activities we would someday do in Boston. Since then I have been able to go to Boston with other GC students as well as bring friends from home to the city.
Unfortunately our cruise for the evening, which had been scheduled to bring us around the harbor, was canceled due to rain. But the bus ride back was really good bonding time with the other freshmen. And we got to have a sweet dance on campus in the student center that evening.

Some of the other people in my Ocrew thought Boston day would be lame because they had spent so much time in this city. But they thoroughly enjoyed the adventure! Whether you've never been there or have been to Boston 100 times, Boston day is definitely worth the experience!
I'm looking forward to Boston day this year and all the fun things we will do in the city, see you all soon! ~Ruth

How To Save A Life

..:..Trust me - The Fray..:..

Looking for something I've never seen
Alone and I'm in between
The place that I'm from and the place that I'm in
A city I never been
I found a friend or should I say a foe
Said there's a few things you should know
We don't want you to see we come and we go
Here today, gone tomorrow

We're only taking turns
Holding this world
It's how it's always been
When you're older you will understand

If I say who I know it just goes to show
You need me less than I need you
Take it from me we don't give sympathy
You can trust me trust nobody
But I said you and me we don't have honesty
The things we don't want to speak
I'll try to get out but I never will
Traffic is perfectly still

We're only taking turns
Holding this world
It's how it's always been
When you're older you will understand

And then again maybe you don't
And then again maybe you won't

When you're older you might understand
When you're older you might understand
